In response to demand, our floor deck profiles are now available with a Higher Durability coating.
The programme and economical benefits of composite deck construction has seen its popularity extend into more aggressive environments where durability becomes a key consideration.
What we can offer
As standard, our profiles are manufactured from steel strip to BSEN10143 & BSEN10346 with guaranteed minimum yield strengths of 350N/mm² & 450N/mm² and a minimum galvanised coating mass of 275g/m².
The ‘HD’ profiles feature an enhanced 310g/m² metallic coating with a unique chemical composition of Zinc, Aluminium and Magnesium. This coating offers increased corrosion resistance up to 10 times that of the standard galvanised option.
Environments where the HD option may be suitable:-
- Exposed locations (e.g. Car Parks)
- Indoor environments where greater moisture buildup is expected
Through Deck Welding
Unlike other pre-coated options, through deck welding can still be carried out with the HD products. SMD have carried out trial tests to qualify the process and settings applicable for the range.
